Midnight Visits || Anna&Clint

anna-romanoff:

As soon as the word “romantic” exited Clint’s mouth and registered in Anna’s brain she cringed. She didn’t do romance movies. But then again, she didn’t do monopoly, or boyfriends, or actual relationships. “But romance. Romance? Ew. Romance!” She felt him shift closer to her and drape his arm over her. She rolled her eyes. Wow. Subtle. Sighing she maybe, just a little, melted into his side. She tried hard not to judge the movie just quite yet, but it soon became clear that it was a comedy as well. “Really? A romcom? You had to choose a romcom?” She turned (as much as she could without hurting her side anymore than was necessary) to Clint and one of her eyebrows shot upwards. She hadn’t realised Clint was such a softie.

Clint looked at Anna and away from the movie to respond “I would have gone for just romance but I had a feeling that you would prefer a romcom more, less romance more humour”. Clint grinned at Anna then looked back to the movie taking glances at those golden locks whenever there was a lull in the movie. Clint noticed Anna was silent through most of the movie now that it was about three quarters of the way through and whispered to her “are you enjoying the movie?”.

Midnight Visits || Anna&Clint

anna-romanoff:

Looking past Clint, towards the TV, she smiled as she pulled the controller out of his hand. “I’ve always wanted to see Mission Impossible. The newest one.” She smiled at him. Now she thought about it, one of the actors looked awfully like Clint and that made her smile more. She started flicking though the movies, searching for the one she wanted.

Truth was, it was difficult to search for the movie with Clint sitting SO. DAMN. CLOSE. She was hyper-aware of his body heat and she dropped the controller to tug at the collar of his shirt, pulling him into a kiss. Without saying anything, and acting as if nothing happened, she let go and started scrolling though her options again. Finding the one she wanted, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, she was about to select it when the controller was no longer in her hands, but grasped in Clint’s, out of Anna’s reach. Not wanting to aggravate her side she didn’t rise to the bait but simply asked, “Is something wrong with Mission Impossible?”

“Is something wrong with mission impossible?” Clint repeated sarcastically raising a single eyebrow for emphasis. Clint then went to the filter engine on the TV and set it to romantic comedy. “Well seeing as how we are dating now I believe we should participate in something more romantic for our first time to watch a movie together” Clint explained as he clicked randomly on the first movie he saw which happened to be 500 days of summer. As the opening credits began Clint ever so subtly lifted his arm and draped it over Anna’s shoulder and shuffling closer to her.

Midnight Visits || Anna&Clint

anna-romanoff:

“I should be able to get it pretty quickly. I’m sure you’ll explain as we go.” The game seemed simple enough. Clint started the game off, rolling the dice and landing on the first train station on the board. Apparently that was a good thing because Clint cheered and ‘bought’ it with the paper play money. As the game went on, Anna picked up on the rules. She was used to having to pick things up quickly. She was losing but she was happy just relaxing and watching Clint battle it out with JARVIS. When it was proving difficult, they decided to gang up on the super AI.

Despite their fighting spirit and tactics, they lost. JARVIS ended up victorious and Anna could tell Clint was little miffed about it. “That was fun.” She smiled at Clint, gesturing with a finger for him to come forwards so she could plant a kiss on his lips. Leaning her forehead against his she hummed. This was nice. She liked this. “So, what now?” She’d looked at the clock earlier and noticed that it had taken just under two hours for JARVIS to kick their butts at monopoly.

Clint muttered to himself about cheating robots but catching what Anna asked quickly brightened his mood and distracted him from cheating robots. “I was thinking we could watch a movie” Clint suggested then walking over to the T.V. grabbed the remote on the nearby table before sitting back next to Anna.

Pressing the on button Clint flicked through the options on the T.V. before coming to the movie’s located on the hard drive section, with a click a long list of movie’s were displayed. Looking to Anna Clint leaned over giving her a soft kiss “Tony has quite the collection, any suggestions for what we would like to watch?” Clint asked and explained after breaking the kiss.

Midnight Visits || Anna&Clint

anna-romanoff:

“Of course, sir. I would enjoy to play a game with you,” JARVIS replied. Anna smiled at Clint. She then opened the box and stared at all the little pieces. Trying not to hurt her side too much she attempted to shuffle up the headboard of the bed so she could be sitting to play. “How do you play?” She asked as she picked up one of the small plastic houses. “Shouldn’t we sit on the floor? The bed is too lumpy and shifty.” She commented at she unfolded the board and put it on the bed, inspecting it’s instability. She spotted a large old pizza box and pointed at it, suggesting they use it for under the board.

Clint got to setting up the game and Anna watched in a slight awe as he knew exactly what he was doing. Setting yellow and orange cards on the board. What looked liked play money went into a plastic ‘till’ like…thing. Anna turned back to the box, inspecting little metal objects inside, deciding that she liked the iron the most (it being the object that, if real, would be the most effective to bludgeon someone to death with).

Anna had to bite her tongue (figuratively) to stop herself from asking a hundred questions about the game. Clint would explain it to her eventually. She was just jumping the gun and being too excited. Pushing herself up into a more comfortable position and ignoring the pain in her side, she picked up the now emptied box and looked at it. “What’s with the whole ‘in case of emergencies’ thing?”

“That?” Clint said needlessly being caught up in counting out money and grabbing the car for himself and delegating the moneybags for Jarvis. Clint wasn’t paying much attention to what he was saying. Then after finishing his task he spoke “The game was a gift from a friend and they wrote in case of emergencies on the box as a joke like in case of a fire reach for your monopoly set” Clint finished his tale and handed Anna two die.

“Now would you like to hear the rules?” Clint asked rhetorically “each player has a turn where they roll the dice and move along the board according to the number they get from the dice, when you fall on a property you have the opportunity to buy it and when you land on a community chest space you get to pick a card” Clint paused making sure Anna understood his explanation then continued “I’ll explain any other spaces when we get to them, for now all you need to know is the idea is to get all the money and have your opponents be bankrupt”.

Clint paused this being the first time he had explained the rules of monopoly and he wanted to make sure he didn’t forget anything. Looking towards a speaker in the room Clint asked Jarvis “Jarvis shall I just roll for you when you want?” with a succinct “yes that is all I require” Jarvis indicated his readiness to begin the game. “So,” Clint began looking towards Anna momentarily distracted by the sight then gathering himself “are you ready to begin? any questions?”.

Midnight Visits || Anna&Clint

anna-romanoff:

Anna smiled even wider when Clint leaned over her to give her a kiss. She must have said something right because he seemed pleased. It took a times running through the question in her brain before she realised what he was saying. She snickered at his child-like enthusiasm to play this ‘monopoly’ game. “This is my boyfriend, Clint.” Anna pretended like she was introducing him to some invisible person. “Yeah. I can be your girlfriend.”She smiled at him.

“So what’s this ‘Monopoly’ game? I think I’ve heard of it.” She smiled at him a little excited to play. Before he go off and grab the game though she caught his shoulder and pulled him down for another kiss. This one was longer and somehow sweet. When they pulled away from each other she rested her forehead against his. “I’m your girlfriend.” She smirked. Yeah, she was Clint’s girlfriend.

Clint was feeling happy after the kiss, it left a pleasant tingling on his lips that felt distinctly Anna. Clint replied to Anna’s statement with a grin whispering to her “and I’m your boyfriend”. after another quick peck to Anna’s lips Clint walked off to his cupboard and pulled out his old monopoly board game, It was old and the box had in bold letters on the cover in red ink “IN CASE OF EMERGENCIES” an old joke written down a few weeks ago.

Clint walked back over to the bed with an awaiting Anna and placed the box next to her “this is monopoly, a basic board game known to be one of the most common in the world” Clint began to explain “now generally two people isn’t enough to play a fun game but I have an ace up my sleeve, Jarvis?” Clint called out to the computer knowing Jarvis was just a call away. Sure enough a few seconds later “yes sir?” came from speakers in the room, “Jarvis would you like to play a game of monopoly with me and Ms Romanoff?” Clint asked while taking a seat on the bed next to Anna.

Midnight Visits || Anna&Clint

anna-romanoff:

“Board games?” She racked her brain. Nope. She’d never played a board game before. “Like the ones that families play together at stuff? For fun?” She eyed him curiously. She’s never really needed to know about ‘board games’ as an assassin. It’s not in the job description. “I’ve never really played a board game before. I’m good at card games though.” She looked at him sheepishly.

Anna noticed that Clint had finished with the bandages and she took one of Clint’s hands in her own. Her fingers curled in between his. Anna then realised that she and Clint were, as much as she could be, running from the law and all, dating. She was his girlfriend. She then wondered how many were called that before her. Frowning slightly at the thought, she tried to get rid of it. Anna shook her head and forced herself to smile. As she studied him, her smile became more genuine.

Thought were buzzing in her head and she spoke before she could filter what was coming out of her mouth. ”I like you. Really like you. More than I’ve ever like anyone in my entire life.” She sighed and continued, “Which isn’t really saying a lot. I guess, I’m pretty lucky. And I might need to get used to this but that doesn’t mean I won’t like getting used to this.”

Clint listened to Anna say she never played a board game before and almost leaped across the room then and there to retrieve his monopoly board game from inside his cupboard. Clint stopped though and thought on the sad life Anna had lead having no real family besides Natasha and sobered up a bit. Clint felt Anna’s hand wrap around his own and watched her smile. It seemed to Clint that the world seemed brighter watching her smile.

Then Anna seemed to confess her feelings and Clint listened as she finished off saying she would need to get use to this. Clint thought it was cute and leaned into to kiss Anna, drawing away from her Clint asked  ”so can I call you my girlfriend?” a grin in place, Clint also asked in rapid succession “and would you like me to teach you the ways of monopoly?”.

Midnight Visits || Anna&Clint

anna-romanoff:

Anna winced as Clint carefully undid her bandages and changed the dressings. “So. What are we going to do today? We can’t just laze around in bed. But we can’t go outside either.” She smiled at him. Anna winced yet again when she looked down to her bullet wound. Turns out she will just be lazing around today. The wound looked much worse now her head had cleared up and she’d gotten some well needed rest.

Taking the painkillers and gulping down the water from the bedside table, Anna watched as Clint delicately cleaned the wound again and started to wrap it up again. His fingers worked fast, and lightly. A smiled pulled at the corners of her lips as she watched him worry over her bullet wound. “I’m not made of china. I’m not going to crumble at the slightest touch, Clint.”

Clint looked away from the bandaging for a second to look at Anna and explain ”You’re just precious to me and I don’t want to see you in pain” Clint then gave a small smile at Anna and went back to work on the bandaging. As he began finishing up on the bandaging Clint thought of some things to do with the time they had together “I have thought of some idea’s” Clint Began “I am thinking we could watch some DVD’s or I do have some board games if we get desperate” Clint looked to Anna for her answer just as he finished bandaging.
